Job summary

AtkinsRéalis US Nuclear seeks a Process/Chemical Engineer Energy for a remote role based out of Oak Ridge, TN. The engineer will design and evaluate nuclear facility systems, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and develop P&IDs and process drawings.

Ideal candidates hold a chemical engineering degree with 2+ years of nuclear project experience, strong communication, and familiarity with NRC regulations. DOE projects and OEM relations are part of the scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field is required.
• Knowledge of NRC regulations and design codes for nuclear facilities.
• Experience supporting nuclear facility design, construction or operations.

Responsibilities

• Develops system architecture, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams for nuclear facilities.
• Prepares mass, energy, and flow balance calculations and pipe sizing.
• Ensures designs comply with DOE/NRC regulations and quality standards.
• Specifies components, valves, and vessels for hazardous environments.
• Produces engineering deliverables and change-control documentation.
• Supports consultants and subcontractors to ensure qualified personnel.
