Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering and 2+ years post-baccalaureate experience.
• Experience supporting nuclear facility design, construction, or operations.
• Familiarity with NRC regulations and design standards for nuclear facilities.
• Knowledge of process simulation and process flow terminology.

Responsibilities

• Develops system architecture, P&IDs, and process diagrams for nuclear facilities.
• Performs evaluations to ensure chemical safety and criticality controls.
• Ensures designs comply with DOE/NRC regulations and forms quality deliverables.
• Specifies components, valves, and vessels for hazardous environments.
• Evaluates test data to improve plant efficiency and safety.
• Prepares mass/energy balances and pipe sizing calculations.
• Creates process equipment specifications and engineering documents.
• Manages change control and ensures deliverables are well-presented.
• Supports design consultants and subcontractors as needed.
