Job summary
Ammortal Inc is seeking an NPI Engineer to own the transition from design to high‑volume production for a complex electromechanical wellness device. You will serve as the main technical interface between Product Engineering and contract manufacturers, driving readiness from design through pilot and into production.
You will collaborate across Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure repeatable, high‑quality builds, with a focus on DFM/DFA, BOM control,
Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
- 4+ years of NPI, manufacturing, or product‑development experience with complex electromechanical products
- Experience taking physical products from prototypes through production launch
- Experience working directly with contract manufacturers and external suppliers
- DFM/DFA, BOMs, ECOs, drawings, assembly processes, fixtures, tooling, and configuration control
- PFMEA, control plans, root‑cause analysis, and 8D‑style problem solving
- Ability to collaborate across Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, Systems, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary engineering interface with contract manufacturers and key suppliers for prototype, pilot, and production builds
- Develop and maintain the NPI plan from prototype builds through production launch and ramp
- Lead DFM/DFA reviews and drive early risk resolution before production release
- Develop manufacturing requirements for assembly processes, fixtures, tooling, programming, calibration, and production testing
- Coordinate BOM readiness, approved components, manufacturing documentation, and engineering changes with owners
- Establish production acceptance criteria and manufacturing quality controls with contract manufacturers
- Track yield, defects, rework, cycle time, and ramp metrics during production ramp
- Drive serviceability and configuration consistency in product design across teams
