Job summary

The Ammortal Chamber is scaling its electromechanical wellness technology. We seek an NPI Engineer to own the transition from design to high-quality production, interfacing with contract manufacturers and suppliers to drive readiness from prototype, through validation, to full production.

You will lead DFM/DFA reviews, manage BOM and ECOs, and ensure manufacturing documentation and test strategy align with quality controls.

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
4+ years of NPI, manufacturing, or product development experience with complex electromechanical products.
Experience taking physical products from engineering prototypes through production launch.
Experience with contract manufacturers and external suppliers.
Strong understanding of DFM/DFA, BOMs, ECOs, drawings, and production testing.
Knowledge of PFMEA, control plans, root-cause analysis, and 8D-style problem solving.
Ability to collaborate across Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, Systems, Quality, Operations and Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

Serve as primary engineering interface with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
Develop and maintain the NPI plan from prototype to production launch.
Lead DFM/DFA reviews and identify manufacturing risks early.
Develop manufacturing requirements for assembly, tooling, and testing.
Coordinate BOM readiness, approved components, and manufacturing docs.
Establish production acceptance criteria and quality controls with the contract manufacturer.
Track ramp metrics: yield, defects, rework, cycle time.
Drive serviceability and configuration considerations into design.
