Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Technical Contract Surety Underwriting Manager for the Northeast Territory in a remote role. You will oversee underwriting activity, evaluate submissions, and price exposures to support profitable growth while maintaining external relationships with agents and reinsurers.

You will help ensure audit-ready documentation and drive special initiatives, contributing to long-term financial performance and a strong underwriting culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in insurance, finance, risk management, business, or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in underwriting.
• Strong understanding of underwriting processes and risk assessment.
• Ability to maintain organized documentation for audits.
• Demonstrated initiative and commitment to the underwriting process.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate new or renewal submissions with high premium or risk exposure.
• Build relationships with agents, reinsurers, and industry contacts.
• Review complex submissions and pricing models for profitability.
• Select appropriate risks based on complex sources of profit.
• Assist with special projects or additional duties as needed.
