Job summary

DC Greens Inc is seeking a Finance Manager to lead bookkeeping, payroll, budgeting, and reporting for our Washington, DC area nonprofit. This role supports transparent financial management and cross-team collaboration.

You will coordinate audits, ensure GAAP compliance, and provide financial guidance to development and program staff. This remote-friendly position requires strong nonprofit finance experience and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Experience in nonprofit finance and with GAAP compliance preferred.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine daily financial activities: AP, AR, banking reconciliations, monthly closings, and end-of-month reporting.
• Process semi-monthly payroll for staff and vendors.
• Record all financial transactions in QuickBooks and generate reports for leadership.
• Monitor cash flow and support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate annual audits and 990 filing with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS, and D.C. Government requirements.
• Lead participatory budgeting and provide financial training across staff.
• Prepare quarterly, annual, and ad hoc financial reports for leadership and board.
