Job summary

Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (EPIP) seeks a permanent, remote Chief Financial Officer to lead financial strategy, budgeting, and the 501(c)(3) transition. You will work with the Executive Director, senior leadership, and the Board to ensure fiscal integrity and operational excellence.

The role emphasizes HR, IT, and risk management, with travel up to 15% and a focus on equity-centered practices. Compensation ranges from $150,000–$165,000, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of finance and operational management experience in the nonprofit sector.
• Knowledge of accounting, GAAP, and financial reporting.
• Experience with HR, risk management, and transitioning from fiscal sponsorship to a 501(c)(3).
• Ability to communicate financial matters to diverse audiences and build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior leader and trusted adviser, aligning financial strategy with EPIP’s goals.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, audits, and transition to 501(c)(3) compliance.
• Lead HR, policies, talent development, and administration with external partners.
• Direct operations, IT, contracts, and risk management to support growth and collaboration.
