Job summary

Council of Foundations is seeking a Chief Philanthropy Officer to lead our comprehensive philanthropy strategy, campaigns, and donor engagement from a remote U.S. location.

The CPO will report to the Chief Operating Officer and supervise senior philanthropy leaders, shaping long-term fundraising growth and organizational sustainability. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred.
• Minimum 13+ years of progressive philanthropy/fundraising experience.
• 7+ years of executive-level leadership in fundraising.
• Proven success in nine-figure campaigns and major gifts.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and donor-relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and evolve a comprehensive philanthropic strategy for annual operations and campaigns.
• Oversee Forever Wild campaign planning, forecasting, and donor engagement.
• Provide executive leadership to philanthropy team and support board collaboration.
• Cultivate high-value donor relationships and manage a focused portfolio of prospects.
