Job summary

Koteff Accounting Group is a remote nonprofit accounting team seeking an experienced accountant to manage month-end close, reporting, and client communications for a diverse nonprofit client portfolio.

You will report to the Nonprofit Accounting Manager, collaborate with bookkeepers, onboard new clients, and deliver virtual CFO services. Occasional after-hours meetings may be required to support audits and client needs.

Qualifications

• Two years of accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience in nonprofits.
• Experience with grant tracking and nonprofit reporting.
• GAAP knowledge and good understanding of financial statements.
• Experience closing the books and preparing for annual audits.
• CPA license or CPA firm experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end closing and prepare reconciliations for nonprofit clients.
• Prepare and present financial statements to CEOs, Finance Committees, and Boards.
• Communicate with clients and manage relationships to ensure high satisfaction.
• Assist onboarding of new clients and implement new tech tools.
• Review day-to-day bookkeeping by client bookkeepers for accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide virtual CFO services such as budgeting and cash flow projections.
