Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Needham, MA seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for night remote on-call coverage in Surgical services. The APP will perform pre-, peri-, and post-operative care, assist in OR, and coordinate discharge planning, with 12–48 hour blocks and shifts 7p–7a.

The role reports to the Chief of Surgery and requires MA licensure as an NP/PA, RNFA certification, and BLS/ACLS; strong clinical assessment and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• BSN or higher with Nurse Practitioner degree; licensure required.
• RNFA certification for Nurse Practitioner candidates.
• MA Nurse Practitioner license or MA PA license required.
• 0–1 year related post-graduate surgical APP experience; min 1 year preferred.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Proficient with computer systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform focused history and exams for surgical patients in ED/Observation.
• Order and interpret labs, radiology, and tests with MD review.
• Develop and implement treatment plans and initial orders with attending.
• Assist in operating room and post-op care, discharge prep.
• Perform procedures including suturing, wound debridement, IV starts, lines.
• Handle diverse surgical cases and respond to Codes.
• Support ED physicians with surgical consultations within scope.
