Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented C# Developer - II for a remote, full-time role within the Veterans Affairs department. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with .NET Framework/Core, MVC, RESTful APIs, and database design using SQL Server and Entity Framework.

Qualifications

• Expertise in .NET framework and .NET Core with strong C# skills.
• Proficiency in back-end development using MVC architecture and .NET Core.
• Strong knowledge of OOP and design patterns.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and other APIs.
• Proficiency in SQL Server and Entity Framework.
• Familiarity with Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
• Experience with Git and TFVC.
• Understanding of CI/CD practices and tools.
• Knowledge of NUnit/xUnit/MSTest.
• Proficiency in Visual Studio and VS Code.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to mentor junior developers.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical planning and requirements definition for software systems and subsystems.
• Define test plans, run tests, and support software deployments and maintenance.
• Participate in daily stand-ups as an active software development team member.
• Develop back-end using .NET and C#, with CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Provide development support for production solutions.
• Promote reusable long-term solutions within Agile framework.
• Interface with stakeholders for project requirements.
• Promote test automation, modularization, and simplification.
• Collaborate with colleagues on solutions and problems.
• Document software designs and data flows.
• Use IDEs like Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and Git.
