Job summary

UL LLC is seeking a field inspector to witness performance tests, conduct safety and non-safety inspections, and evaluate test results for compliance with UL requirements. The role involves collaboration with manufacturers, customers, and authorities having jurisdiction across production facilities and field sites.

Applicants should have NDT Level II training (MT, VT, UT), strong mechanical/electrical aptitude, and excellent verbal communication. Ability to travel and work outdoors is required.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English is required.
• NDT Classroom Training MT, VT and UT with Level II experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and technical ability.
• Strong verbal communication and client-facing skills.
• Able to work outdoors year-round and in production facilities for welding/fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Witness performance testing of pumps and electrical systems on automotive fire apparatus.
• Perform safety and non-safety certification inspections and evaluate test results against requirements.
• Use technical judgment to assess noncompliance variations and impact.
• Audit customer quality management or assurance programs as needed.
• Interact with manufacturers, Authorities Having Jurisdiction and customers to conduct inspections.
• Document test results and variations and follow UL forms.
