Job summary

Crossing Hurdles is seeking a senior analyst to develop and deliver expert analysis on naval operations, platforms, and doctrine, drawing on direct fleet, program, or intelligence experience.

You will synthesize classified and unclassified data to support Navy planning, draft concise assessments, and brief senior leadership, while coordinating with Navy, DoD, the IC, and industry partners.

Qualifications

• Experience in U.S. Navy, MARAD/DOT, or comparable maritime/defense roles.
• Active TS/SCI clearance preferred; at minimum, Secret clearance held within the last 24 months.
• Experience briefing and writing for executive or flag-level leadership.
• Familiarity with Pentagon processes, OPNAV, NAVSEA, or PEO environments, and cross-stakeholder coordination.
• Analytical judgment in classified or high-stakes project environments.
• Intelligence Community background is a strong asset.
• Master's degree in national security, defense studies, or engineering desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver expert analysis on naval operations, platforms, and doctrine.
• Assess and synthesize classified and unclassified data to support Navy planning and requirements.
• Draft concise, actionable written assessments and prepare high-level briefings for senior leadership.
• Coordinate across Navy, DoD, IC, and industry stakeholders to gather insights and ensure alignment with mission goals.
• Interpret and communicate recent developments in naval capabilities and maritime security relevant to customer objectives.
• Safeguard and handle classified materials (TS/SCI) per protocols.
