Job summary

SR Construction Services, LLC is seeking a proven National Director of Preconstruction & Subcontractor Buyout to lead our national estimating department, subcontractor procurement operations, and project buyout strategies.

In this high-visibility remote executive role, you will direct the preconstruction lifecycle for a national Division 1 contractor, overseeing VE, takeoffs, vendor negotiations, and margin protection across $2M–$25M projects.

Qualifications

• 10+ years commercial estimating/preconstruction experience with a GC.
• 5+ years managing an estimating department or vendor procurement team.
• Proven track record leading subcontractor procurement and buyouts.
• Experience estimating ground-up, TI, industrial, adaptive reuse projects.
• Ability to read/interpret architectural, structural, MEP drawings & specs.
• Proficiency in BuildingConnected, Procore, MS Office 365, and estimating software.
• Able to manage multi-project remote workflows during ET business hours.

Responsibilities

• Direct the estimating and vendor development teams across projects.
• Standardize processes for cost estimating, takeoffs, procurement, buyout.
• Oversee budgets, line-item estimates, and VE options for bids.
• Lead post-award buyouts: evaluations, scope leveling, negotiations.
• Select/vet subcontractors based on performance and pricing.
• Protect margins and manage procurement schedules.
• Coordinate preconstruction-to-construction turnover with PMs.
• Resolve procurement challenges and support field operations.
