Job summary

Financial Statement Services, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Microsoft SQL Database Administrator to join the FSSI East Development team.

This remote role supports SQL Server environments across development, testing, and production, ensuring availability, security, and performance. You will install, configure, monitor, and optimize SQL Server instances; implement backup/recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery; collaborate with IT, development, and security teams; and contribute to CI/CD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of SQL Server experience.
• DP-300 or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of cloud SQL environments (Azure/AWS) preferred.
• Experience with security, backups, and HA/DR practices.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, monitor, patch, and maintain SQL Server environments across dev, test, prod.
• Install SQL Server instances, databases, jobs, linked servers, and maintenance plans.
• Monitor availability, performance, health, and security; proactively resolve issues.
• Perform SQL tuning, indexing, and statistics maintenance.
• Design and maintain backup/recovery strategies and DR plans.
• Support HA/DR technologies like Always On and log shipping.
• Automate admin tasks with PowerShell and SQL scripting.
• Collaborate with developers and DevOps for deployments and CI/CD.
