Job summary

Financial Statement Services, Inc. (FSSI) is seeking a hands-on Microsoft SQL Database Administrator to join the East Development team in a remote capacity.

The role supports SQL Server environments across development, test, and production, with opportunities for hybrid or onsite arrangements at Lincoln, RI or Orlando, FL. The ideal candidate will own installation, configuration, monitoring, backup/recovery, high-availability, and security of SQL Server platforms, while collaborating with IT,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• 2–4 years of SQL Server administration experience.
• Microsoft Azure Database Administrator Associate DP-300 strongly preferred or equivalent certification.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments across development, test, and production.
• Implement backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies (Always On, failover clustering, log shipping).
• Maintain security, access controls, encryption, auditing, and change-management compliance.
• Automate routine tasks with PowerShell, T-SQL, and CI/CD tooling.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize queries, indexes, and data models.
• Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and production support.
