Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System seeks a Medical Physicist for a home-based role to coordinate the imaging quality and safety across the health system. You will lead CT and MRI protocol development, and advise imaging leadership on equipment and purchasing decisions.

The role requires an MS in Physics or related field (PhD preferred), Texas medical physics license, and ABR or equivalent board certification. Strong ALARA focus and radiation safety expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Physics, Health Physics, Radiological Physics, Medical Physics, or related field required. PhD preferred.
• Texas License in Medical Physics specialty required.
• Board Certification by ABR or equivalent board.
• Four years of related experience preferred.
• Member of AAPM or equivalent society.
• Eligible to be the principal Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) for RAM licenses and X-ray registrations in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Serves as primary Radiation Safety Officer for X-Ray Registration and RAM licenses.
• Assists in development and evaluation of radiation safety policies and practices.
• Oversees dosimetry calculations and shielding to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborates with health physicist to investigate radiation incidents.
• Coordinates acceptance testing of new imaging equipment and shielding evaluations.
