Job summary

Hearst Magazines is seeking a Temporary Associate Motion Graphics Designer to bring stories to life through motion, design, and creativity. You will collaborate with a talented creative team to produce best-in-class video content for Hearst's iconic brands, all from a remote working setup.

Responsibilities include concepting and animating motion graphics for YouTube series and social content, designing thumbnails, retouching photography, creating MOGRT templates, and delivering production-ready

Qualifications

1+ years of experience in motion graphics design.
Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator).
Working knowledge of Premiere Pro or comparable video editing software.
Demonstrated ability to create engaging motion graphics with a strong eye for layout, typography, color, and visual storytelling.
Portfolio or demo reel showcasing relevant work.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Director of Creative Video and Executive Producers to conceptualize, design, and animate motion graphics for YouTube series, social content, sizzle reels, presentations, and other creative projects.
Design engaging thumbnails and supporting visual assets for recurring video content across multiple Hearst Magazines brands.
Retouch photography and create polished visual assets while maintaining each brand's creative standards and identity.
Extend backgrounds, sets, and other visual elements to enhance social-first video content.
Develop presentation decks, infographics, and other design materials that support internal and external storytelling.
Support senior designers and animators by creating motion graphics templates (MOGRTs), animations, and production-ready design assets.
Manage multiple creative assignments simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
Grow into ownership of graphic packages and animation projects as expertise and familiarity with Hearst brands develop.
