Job summary

The HR Pro is conducting a confidential search for a Mortgage Underwriter & Fulfillment Specialist on behalf of our client, a Canadian mortgage brokerage based in Alberta. This fully remote role supports underwriting, fulfillment, documentation, and compliance to move files from application to funding.

You will review, submit, and coordinate lender conditions, maintain records, and serve as a primary contact for clients and partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mortgage fulfillment, underwriting support, mortgage administration, or mortgage operations within the Canadian broker channel.
• Strong understanding of the mortgage process from application through funding.
• Experience with lender submissions, conditions, document collection, and fulfillment activities.
• Familiarity with A, B, alternative, private, and credit union lending environments.
• Working knowledge of mortgage underwriting principles and lender guidelines.
• Experience reviewing income documentation, credit reports, and supporting mortgage documentation.
• Attention to detail with focus on accuracy, compliance, and file quality.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple files and priorities independently.
• Comfortable working remotely.

Responsibilities

• Review mortgage applications and conduct thorough reviews for completeness and lender compliance.
• Identify potential concerns or documentation gaps early in the process.
• Structure the mortgage and recommend suitable products, lenders, and strategies.
• Prepare high-quality lender submissions and present complete, accurate files.
• Provide underwriting insight on self-employed, rental, and complex lending scenarios.
• Ensure files are complete, logical, and lender-ready.
