Based in Tempe, this hybrid position blends remote work with 1–3 days in the Tempe office per month, requiring residence in the greater Phoenix area and a commitment to accuracy and strong collaboration

Qualifications

• 3–5 years (UW II) or more than 5 years (UW III) of underwriting experience in home loans.
• Experience with self-employment verification and income calculation.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced mortgage environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate loan applications and borrowers' creditworthiness.
• Adhere to departmental SLAs and underwriting guidelines.
• Monitor Regulation B compliance and ensure decisions are within SLAs.
• Verify income, employment, and review credit history.
• Analyze income tax returns for self-employed borrowers.
• Approve/deny loan requests based on guidelines and investor criteria.
