AmeriSave Mortgage Corporation is seeking experienced mortgage underwriters for a remote, work-from-home role. You will evaluate loans, ensure compliance with agency and investor guidelines, and deliver well-supported credit decisions.

This position offers a competitive hourly pay range of $28–$38 with bonuses; annual target compensation ranges from $67,000 to $140,000, depending on state and performance, while joining a nationwide team. CA-based applicants are excluded.

Qualifications

• 5+ years current/recent frontline mortgage underwriting experience.
• DE and/or SAR certifications preferred.
• Deep knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and Jumbo guidelines.
• Proficiency in LOS/AUS platforms (Encompass, DU, LPA).
• Strong analytical, credit, and risk assessment skills.
• High-speed internet required for remote work; reliable Ethernet connection.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite mortgage loans for compliance with agency, investor, and internal guidelines.
• Review credit, income, assets, tax returns, appraisals, title, insurance, fraud tools — and deliver clear, accurate credit decisions.
• Document precise income and asset calculations and articulate well‑supported approval rationale.
• Issue conditions and final decisions within established SLAs.
• Review and clear conditions with accuracy and urgency.
• Support pre‑funding audits, investor audits, and review‑desk inquiries.
• Partner with Loan Officers, Processors, and Closers to ensure smooth, timely closings.
• Stay current on guideline updates, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
• Contribute to QC reviews and continuous improvement across the department.
