Job summary

AmeriSave Mortgage is looking for skilled Mortgage Underwriters to join a high-performing team. You will shape borrower experiences nationwide, underwriting loans and delivering clear credit decisions with strong attention to detail.

This remote, work-from-home role offers flexibility while staying connected to a supportive team. Candidates should have 5+ years of frontline underwriting experience and be proficient with Encompass, DU, and LPA.

Qualifications

5+ years frontline mortgage underwriting experience.
DE and/or SAR certifications preferred.
Deep knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and Jumbo guidelines.
Proficiency in LOS/AUS platforms (Encompass, DU, LPA).
Strong analytical, credit, and risk assessment skills.
Exceptional attention to detail in high-volume environments.
Proactive, solutions-focused mindset and ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and underwrite mortgage loans for compliance with agency, investor, and internal guidelines.
Review credit, income, assets, tax returns, appraisals, title, insurance, fraud tools, and deliver clear approval decisions.
Document precise income and asset calculations and articulate well-supported rationale.
Issue conditions and final decisions within SLAs.
Review and clear conditions with accuracy and urgency.
Support pre-funding audits and review-desk inquiries.
Partner with Loan Officers, Processors, and Closers to ensure smooth closings.
Stay current on guideline updates and regulatory changes.
Contribute to QC reviews and continuous improvement.
