Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Origination supervisor to lead a small team and drive loan volume across an OFP territory. You will secure documents for processing, underwriting, and closing while building referral networks with real estate professionals.

Requirements include 2+ years of mortgage sales experience and NMLS registration. The role involves recruiting talent, collaborating with various bank lines, and may require on-site work three days a week for nearby locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two or more years of mortgage sales experience.
• Demonstrated new business development and relationship management skills.
• Good knowledge of sales and sales strategies.
• Thorough knowledge of mortgage products/services, operations, and current market trends.
• Basic knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage insurance companies.
• Working knowledge of underwriting requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors, as gained through on the job training or some real estate brokerage experience.
• Familiar with local, state and national laws (e.g. zoning ordinances, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, energy audit requirements, etc.)
• Well-developed customer service/relations skills
• Strong attention to detail orientation, and ability to analyze financial information
• Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to meet the applicable requirement of performing their duties outside of their regular place of business
• This position also requires 2 or more hours of driving per week
• Established referral base within assigned market preferred
• 2 years of mortgage loan origination experience with proven results

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day activities related to loan origination for a small team of Mortgage Loan Originators.
• Ensure documents for processing, underwriting, and closing are secured in a timely manner.
• Meet loan origination goals established annually by management.
• Establish referral relationships with real estate brokers, builders, and external sources.
• Participate in mortgage banking associations and maintain knowledge of mortgage industry issues.
• Collaborate with U.S. Bank Home Mortgage and other lines to promote customer relationships and product sales.
• Recruit new talent and develop current employees to retain staff.
