Job summary

U.S. Bank in Nashville seeks a Mortgage Loan Originator to originate loans in an assigned metro area, handling applications, preliminary underwriting, and submission for approval. You will support closing by securing required documents and engaging in related sales activities, with travel as needed.

This role is posted as remote; however, candidates near a U.S. Bank location may be required to work on-site at least three days per week and drive two hours or more per week as part of the role.

Qualifications

• NMLS registration under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z, with ongoing compliance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year mortgage, sales, real estate, or banking experience.
• Ability to travel.
• Knowledge of underwriting requirements for mortgage insurers and major agencies (FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA).

Responsibilities

• Originates mortgage loans in an assigned metropolitan territory.
• Takes applications, conducts preliminary underwriting reviews, submits loan applications for processing and underwriting approval.
• Follows up to secure documents required for processing, underwriting, and closing.
• Engages in loan sales activities away from U.S. Bank locations.
