Job summary

Homeward, a remote-first real estate startup, is seeking a Loan Officer to be the face of Homeward Mortgage and drive new customer opportunities. You’ll own the agent and customer experience while ensuring all parties stay informed and confident about their transaction.

Leads will be provided and you will build referral relationships while collaborating with processors, underwriters and closers to make Homeward Mortgage the preferred finance partner.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience originating FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA and Non‑Conforming (Jumbo) mortgages.
• Expert knowledge of Desktop Underwriter (DU) and purchase mortgages.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Convert leads and drive share of wallet with agent partners and customers.
• Manage a pipeline of homebuyers and agents, delivering top service and responsiveness.
• Provide a world-class mortgage experience with excellent service.
• Coordinate with the transaction team to keep all parties informed and up-to-date.
• Originate agency conforming, FHA, VA, and jumbo residential mortgage loans.
• Quote interest rates and structure/reshape loans as needed.
• Collaborate with internal teams to handle challenging underwriting scenarios.
