Job summary

University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a professional to administratively manage a remote/mobile program within the School of Public Health. You will lead data-related activities, develop standardized protocols, and supervise staff to ensure program success across multiple sites in the Southeast.

The role requires independent judgment, travel more than 75%, and adherence to biosafety and OSHA standards. Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required.
  • Three (3) years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages ongoing development and maintenance of the program and data-related activities per project plan.
  • Develops protocols to standardize data collection, safety monitoring, and reporting for the program.
  • Manages quality assurance and data/project reporting for the laboratory team and directs staff activities.
  • Develops timelines to ensure compliance with OSHA and UAB biosafety regulations across projects.
  • Operates and maintains instruments and performs calibration and quality control checks as required.
  • Trains and supervises part-time staff, AmeriCorps/Vista staff, contractors, students or interns.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
