Job summary

Gainwell Technologies is seeking an experienced MMIS Data Architect to design and govern data architectures that support large-scale Medicaid system implementations and modernizations.

You will partner with conversion teams, application architects, analysts, developers, and state clients to ensure data is structured, validated, and optimized across MMIS and MES environments. This role emphasizes governance, scalability, and collaboration.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of experience in data architecture or large-scale data platform design.
• Experience with data conversion or data migration initiatives.
• 3+ years applying AI-assisted automation to accelerate data workflows.
• Foundational understanding of cloud infrastructure and networking.
• Experience working across the full SDLC in large programs.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and govern data architecture standards supporting MMIS data.
• Guide data transformation strategies from legacy MMIS to modern solutions.
• Leverage AI-assisted automation to accelerate data design, profiling, validation, and documentation while ensuring governance.
• Collaborate with data conversion managers, architects, analysts, and developers.
• Establish and maintain data architecture artifacts including mappings, canonical models, data dictionaries, and governance standards.
• Ensure data designs meet CMS requirements, audit readiness, and performance expectations.
• Define data integration patterns and data flows between MMIS modules and external systems.
• Partner with infrastructure and cloud teams to ensure hosting and security alignment.
