Job summary

Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) seeks a Migrant Education Identification and Recruitment-Recruiter to actively identify and recruit eligible migratory children in the Southwest Washington region, with remote work eligibility. This full-time permanent role reports to the Title I, Part C Migrant Education Program and is based in Yakima County.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or seven years of migrant/farmworker services experience, bilingual

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Ethnic Studies, Social Science, Social Work, or related field with 3 years migrant & farmworker services experience.
  • Or 7 years of professional migrant & farmworker services experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Willing to locate to Yakima County and travel extensively.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and determine eligibility of migratory children per federal regulations.
  • Identify and recruit children in non-migrant-funded districts.
  • Research districts and craft a regional recruitment plan.
  • Support quality control in eligibility verification and interviews.
  • Develop a regional resource directory for migratory families.
  • Provide training on eligibility and recruitment practices and participate in regional/state professional development.
