Job summary

Responsibilities include advocacy, coordination with PACs, and providing translations as needed; includes travel and data reporting for program updates.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency.
• Bilingual in Spanish or Creole preferred.
• Must hold a valid driver's license in the individual’s state of residence.
• Bachelor's degree in education or related area preferred.
• PA Instructional Certificate.
• Experience with accessing regional support services.
• 1-3 years of previous experience as a teacher or caseworker or direct services to children and young adults.
• Working knowledge of Migrant Education Program and services.

Responsibilities

• Visit employers, schools, migrant families and agencies for referrals and follow-ups.
• Maintain knowledge of Migrant Education Program guidelines, regulations, and procedures.
• Develop understanding of educational initiatives and government/social services for migrant students.
• Provide instructional support and intervention for students through schools, homes, and service agencies.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders, funding agents, and IU5 staff.
• Advocate for the Migrant Education Program to parents, schools, and agencies.
• Maintain records and documentation accurately.
• Provide summer enrichment for children or coordinate activities with other agencies.
