Job summary

Northwest Tri-county Intermediate Unit 5 is seeking a Migrant Education Recruiter-Student Support Specialist-Parent Involvement Specialist. This grant-funded role will identify, recruit, and enroll eligible migrant children and out-of-school youth per the Migrant Education plan, while advocating for students and supporting parents to meet needs.

The position emphasizes collaboration with schools and service agencies to promote educational development, self-concepts, and readiness for graduation

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency required.
• Valid driver's license in state of residence required.
• Bachelor's degree in education or related area preferred.
• PA Instructional Certificate preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish or Creole preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visit employers, schools, migrant families and agencies for referrals and follow-ups.
• Maintain knowledge of Migrant Education Program guidelines and procedures.
• Provide instructional support and intervention through schools, homes, and service agencies.
• Advocate for migrant students to parents, schools, and community agencies.
• Coordinate and facilitate parent meetings and engage Parent Advisory Council (PAC).
• Maintain records and provide program updates to supervisors.
