Job summary

Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) seeks a Migrant Education Identification and Recruitment-Recruiter for the Title I, Part C Migrant Education Program. This full‑time permanent position is based in Yakima, Washington and is eligible for remote work.

The role focuses on identifying and recruiting migratory children, providing technical assistance to local recruiters, and supporting statewide recruitment efforts.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Ethnic Studies, Social Science, Social Work, or related field and three (3) years of professional migrant & farmworker services experience.
• OR seven (7) years of professional experience in migrant & farmworker services or related field.
• Bilingual/biliterate in English/Spanish.
• Currently located or willing to locate to Yakima County.
• Willing and able to travel extensively throughout the state (up to three times per month for multiple days).
• Must have a valid Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Identify and determine eligibility of migratory children per federal regulations.
• Identify and recruit children in non-migrant-funded local educational agencies.
• Research non-migrant-funded districts and create a strategic recruitment plan.
• Assist with quality control activities regarding program eligibility verification.
• Develop and maintain a regional resource directory for migratory families.
• Provide technical assistance and training on eligibility and recruitment practices.
• Participate in regional, state, and national professional development opportunities.
