Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a MES Engineer to join our team remotely. You will support and enhance manufacturing technology platforms, configure industrial connectivity, and troubleshoot data flow across facilities.

The role emphasizes MES, historian systems, and real-time reporting, with collaboration across manufacturing, quality, engineering, and IT teams. The ideal candidate has strong SQL, OSI PI experience, and knowledge of OPC/Modbus protocols, plus API integrations and PLC/industrial controls

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and database experience.
• Experience with industrial data historians (OSI PI).
• Experience with industrial connectivity solutions (Kepware or FactoryTalk).
• Experience integrating manufacturing equipment and data systems.
• Understanding of MES, SCADA, or manufacturing execution technologies.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as OPC, OPC UA, MQTT, or Modbus.
• Experience troubleshooting data collection, system interfaces, and manufacturing applications.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• PLC integration or industrial controls experience.
• OEE and manufacturing performance reporting.
• API integrations.
• Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support and enhance manufacturing technology platforms and applications.
• Configure and maintain industrial connectivity solutions and data historians.
• Troubleshoot OT data flow, integration, and communication issues.
• Partner with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and IT teams to deliver technology solutions.
• Implement and support MES, historian, and manufacturing data systems.
• Develop technical documentation including process flows, system architecture diagrams, and integration specifications.
• Create and support real-time dashboards and manufacturing performance reporting.
• Assist with Industry 4.0, smart factory, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert for manufacturing data platforms.
• Support multiple manufacturing facilities and collaborate with global stakeholders.
