Job summary

GrayMatter is seeking an MES Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize MES applications across manufacturing environments, connecting MES with ERP, LIMS, WMS, and SCADA, and guiding FAT/SAT and go-live cutovers.

This role requires 4+ years of MES experience, strong coding in Python/JavaScript/VBA, and solid SQL skills. You will travel 25–40% for onsite activities, with remote work supported to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Industrial, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering or similar).
• Minimum 4+ years configuring and implementing MES in manufacturing or regulated environments.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and VBA/Excel automation.
• Strong relational database design, SQL server, PostgreSQL or Oracle knowledge.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs with JSON/XML and OAuth 2.0.
• IT fundamentals including TCP/IP networking and client-server architecture.
• Willingness to travel 25–40% for onsite discovery, pilots and go-live support.

Responsibilities

• Configure and deploy MES applications to manage work orders, genealogy, OEE, downtime, and electronic batch/history records.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, data-mapping scripts, and SQL-backed data pipelines to connect MES with ERP, LIMS, WMS, and SCADA.
• Lead FAT/SAT, pilot deployments, and go-live cutovers at client sites.
• Configure industrial communication parameters and ensure reliable data flow between plant equipment and enterprise systems.
• Deliver training and SOPs for shop-floor operators; support sales with demos and scoping.
• Perform root-cause analysis on data discrepancies and performance bottlenecks.
