Job summary

Raymond, a forward-thinking architecture and engineering firm, seeks a Director of MEP to lead Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. You will guide project delivery, mentor engineers, and shape department strategy while coordinating with project managers and leadership.

The role emphasizes staffing planning, fiscal oversight, and maintaining Raymond's quality standards across federal, healthcare, education, and commercial projects. Travel about 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• ABET/EAC-accredited four-year engineering degree required.
• 15+ years with ABET bachelor’s + master’s; 22+ years with non-American degree.
• Experience in mechanical and plumbing or electrical engineering for large architectural projects.
• PE licensure in the United States and an active NCEES record.
• Ability to travel ~20% for client or company meetings.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for Raymond's Mechanical and Electrical Engineering disciplines.
• Develop and implement departmental plans aligned with company goals.
• Forecast future staffing needs based on active projects, proposals, RFPs, and opportunities.
• Manage personnel utilization and assign staff to projects based on workload and capability.
• Lead, develop, and mentor MEP staff with career development and performance feedback.
• Maintain training programs to ensure consistent project delivery and technical growth.
• Review engineering deliverables and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client expectations.
• Support business development, client relationships, and project planning.
