Job summary

Expansion International is partnering with a healthcare interpreting provider to build a team of Medical Video Remote Interpreters across multiple languages, including Greek, for US healthcare. This fully remote role connects healthcare professionals with patients who are more comfortable communicating in a language other than English, primarily through video, with occasional over-the-phone sessions.

Qualifications

• Fluent, professional level verbal communication in English and Bengali.
• Understanding of medical interpreting concepts, informal experience acceptable.
• Ability to interpret medical information accurately in both languages.
• Willingness to complete a medical interpreting proficiency assessment.
• Cultural responsiveness and comfort within US healthcare context.
• Strong reliability, judgement, and customer-service mindset.
• Comfort with video conferencing and new remote technology.
• Able to pass background and drug screening.
• Home workspace: private, locked room with wired high-speed internet.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate video interpreting between English and Greek, with occasional phone sessions.
• Maintain meaning, do not add omit or alter content.
• Adhere to interpreter ethics, standards, and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with healthcare privacy requirements.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect patient preferences.
• Display professional conduct before, during, and after sessions; exercise sound judgment.
• Adapt to evolving technology, workflows, and service requirements.
• Participate in required training, coaching, and quality activities.
