Job summary

Optum is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to manage patient appointment scheduling, optimize clinician calendars, verify benefits, and deliver a positive patient experience. This role collaborates with clinical teams and uses EPIC and other health systems to relay information efficiently.

This full-time position offers training, a 7:55 am - 4:25 pm MST schedule, potential overtime, and a telecommuting setup within 50 miles of Albuquerque.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ years of related customer service or scheduling experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills.
• Ability to work standard hours 7:55 am - 4:25 pm MST, plus potential overtime.

Responsibilities

• Accurately schedules and coordinates patient appointments for assigned clinics.
• Work in a high call volume environment while meeting productivity and quality standards.
• Verify eligibility and benefits; enter demographic data in EPIC.
• Register patients in the electronic health record and use templates as needed.
• Communicate with clinical teams to relay information and support operations.
