Job summary

NaphCare is hiring a Medical Scheduler to join our team at our corporate headquarters in Birmingham, AL. This remote role requires you to be available to report to the corporate office when requested, and all training will be conducted in person at our office.

You will coordinate and schedule healthcare appointments for inmates, working with healthcare professionals at hospitals and federal prisons, both on-site and off-site, while maintaining confidential medical records and adhering to HIPAA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior medical office scheduling and medical records experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and various medical specialties.
• Experience with data entry and large data volumes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Schedule on-site and off-site medical appointments and maintain records.
• Enter consultation requests and manage patient information.
• Review medical records and authorization scenarios.
• Maintain calendar and optimize scheduling using technology.
• Communicate scheduling changes with staff, patients, and other parties.
• Adhere to HIPAA and all security protocols.
