Job summary

Koniag Advisory Business Solutions, LLC (KABS) is seeking a Medical Records Technician – Coder III to support IHS Haskell Indian Health Center. This fully remote role requires accuracy and timely coding of outpatient encounters while maintaining coding currency and backlog reduction.

The successful candidate will work independently in a remote environment, managing priorities and engaging with providers and staff to resolve documentation issues, with a focus on quality and productivity.

Qualifications

• Current coding credential in good standing (CCS, CCS-P, CPC, COC, RHIT or RHIA).
• Demonstrated experience with outpatient/ambulatory medical coding.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS Level II and E/M guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and assign diagnostic and procedural codes for outpatient/ambulatory encounters.
• Abstract coded information into RPMS and PCC.
• Identify and apply ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS/CPT/NCCI guidelines and AIR requirements.
• Communicate with providers to obtain necessary information for coding.
