Job summary

DaMar Staffing supports the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System. The full-time VA Licensed Medical Records Coder will perform coding for inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory surgery cases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with official coding guidelines in a remote work environment.

The role involves reviewing documentation, assigning ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS codes, and meeting five-day coding targets with high accuracy, while collaborating with the HIM team.

Qualifications

• Active coding credential from AHIMA or AAPC (RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC).
• Minimum 2 years of professional coding at a VA medical center.
• Formal training in anatomy, medical terminology, and coding conventions.
• Proficiency with Oracle Health coding workflows and Solventum CRS encoder.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain VA background clearance.

Responsibilities

• Review provider documentation and assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Complete initial coding within five calendar days with 95% accuracy.
• Initiate provider queries and participate in HIM staff meetings.
