Job summary

TriHealth is seeking a skilled Health Information Coder to review clinical documentation and assign accurate ICD and CPT codes, DRGs, and POA indicators. You will contribute to timely reimbursements and maintain data quality within Epic or similar health information systems.

The role requires RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CPC certifications (or active enrollment), proficiency in coding standards, and a collaborative mindset to support department goals and compliance with federal guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in ICD and CPT coding required.
  • AHIMA certifications (RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CPC) or equivalent required.
  • Understanding of DRGs, POA indicators, and payer rules.
  • Experience with data abstraction and clinical documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Independently reviews clinical documentation to assign accurate codes and indicators.
  • Meets monthly productivity targets for coding activities.
  • Abstracts demographic and clinical data into hospital health information systems.
  • Participates in training and team activities to support coding quality and process improvements.
