UnitedHealth Group's Transplant Resource Solutions seeks a board-certified Medical Director with transplantation and cellular therapy expertise to serve as a clinical SME, guiding evidence-based decision-making and collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.

The role focuses on utilization management, quality programs, and COE evaluations, with extensive collaboration with network and non-network physicians and client stakeholders. Remote work is available nationwide in the U.S.

Formación

• MD or DO degree.
• Unrestricted physician license.
• Board certification in an ABMS or AOA recognized specialty.
• Specialized expertise in Hematology/Oncology with BMT/cellular therapies.
• 5+ years of clinical experience in transplantation and/or cellular therapy.
• Experience evaluating clinical literature and guidelines.
• Experience utilizing data for quality improvement.
• Knowledge of NCQA, URAC, CMS regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as clinical SME for solid organ transplantation, BMT, stem cell transplantation, CAR-T therapies, and cellular therapies.
• Apply clinical expertise to support benefit coverage determinations and utilization management.
• Participate in evaluating and enhancing transplant and cellular therapy guidelines and COE criteria.
• Review emerging clinical evidence, industry trends, and regulatory developments related to transplantation and cellular therapy.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to assess quality outcomes and COE qualifications.
• Provide clinical consultation to support new business opportunities, client renewals, and program development.
• Participate in client-facing discussions and program reviews for transplant services.
• Build relationships with client medical directors and transplant centers.
• Support provider qualification and COE reviews.
• Analyze clinical and operational data to identify trends and opportunities for quality and utilization improvements.
• Support peer-to-peer discussions on transplant-related coverage decisions.
• Represent the organization at professional meetings and industry organizations.
