Job summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking an experienced medical coding educator and auditor to ensure alignment with coding requirements and organizational policies. You will deliver targeted education, develop materials, and collaborate with clinical practice managers and coding leadership to improve documentation and compliance.

Ideal candidates bring RHIA/CPC/RHIT/CCS certification, 5+ years coding experience in hospitals, and 2+ years in training, with strong ability to work with physicians on documentation

Qualifications

• Associate's degree/college diploma required.
• Bachelor's degree in a health-related field preferred.
• RHIA, CPC, RHIT or CCS certification required.
• Minimum 5 years of coding experience in a hospital/facility setting.
• Minimum 2 years in a training role highly preferred.
• Experience working with physicians on documentation and coding practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts medical record audits to ensure alignment with coding requirements, organizational policies, and industry standards.
• Delivers education through one-on-one support, provider tip sheets, virtual presentations, and other training resources; acts as SME in surgical coding, diagnosis coding, and documentation requirements.
• Analyzes data, communicates findings, and drives documentation and coding improvement initiatives.
• Develops and maintains educational materials and training programs with clinical practice managers and coding leadership to support provider performance and compliance.
• Functions as a subject matter expert in surgical coding, diagnosis coding, and documentation requirements.
