Job summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a Coding Educator to lead specialty-specific education in medical record documentation and coding. You will conduct audits to ensure compliance with coding requirements and organizational policies, then deliver targeted education to clinicians and staff.

You will analyze data, report findings, and partner with clinical practice managers and coding leadership to improve provider performance and documentation quality.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree/college diploma required; bachelor's preferred.
• RHIA, CPC, RHIT or CCS certification required.
• Minimum 5 years of coding experience in a hospital/facility setting.
• Minimum 2 years in a training role highly preferred.
• Experience collaborating with physicians on documentation and coding practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct medical record audits to ensure alignment with coding requirements, policies, and industry standards.
• Deliver education through one-on-one support, provider tip sheets, virtual presentations, and other training resources as a subject-matter expert.
• Analyze data, communicate findings, and drive documentation and coding improvement initiatives.
• Develop and maintain educational materials and training programs with coding leadership to support provider performance and compliance.
