ExamWorks, Inc. is seeking a Medical Coding Specialist to join our team remotely. The role requires current CPC certification; CPMA and Life Care Planner are preferred. The Coding Specialist writes reports from medical records and ensures coding aligns with guidelines and client contracts.

Work schedule is Monday–Friday 8am–5pm EST. The role emphasizes HIPAA compliance, high-quality reviews, and accurate invoicing, with potential court testimony and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year medical billing experience or equivalent.
• Must have a solid understanding of medical billing and CPT/ICD guidelines.
• Proficient with common software (Word, Outlook, Excel) and internet usage.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance is required.

Responsibilities

• Input client and examinee data into the system database.
• Sort and verify each claim; process and review claims with necessary modifications.
• Provide QA on cases and ensure documentation is complete for audits.
• Handle client inquiries by phone, email, or fax and notify supervisor as needed.
• Assist with client invoicing per fee schedule and maintain HIPAA compliance.
