Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a Coding Specialist for a 100% remote role. You will assign codes to medical diagnoses and procedures using appropriate classifications and review records for accuracy and completeness.

The position requires strong attention to detail, analytical and communication skills, with certifications such as CPC/CCS/CCS-P or RHIA/RHIT preferred; a high school diploma or GED is acceptable with credentials pursued within 1 year.

Qualifications

• Must have AHIMA or AAPC coding certification per position level.
• RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CCA/CPC/CPC-H within 1 year is preferred or required.
• Experience with medical record review and coding systems is expected.

Responsibilities

• Reviews medical records to determine all diagnostic and procedural code assignments.
• Assigns charges for applicable clinics/departments as appropriate.
• Communicates coding and documentation issues with supervisor/manager.
• Seeks clarification from providers to ensure accurate coding.
• Maintains up-to-date coding knowledge through education and literature review.
