Job summary

Altea Healthcare is seeking a Medical Coding/Education Specialist to enhance coding accuracy and compliance in post-acute care facilities. You will review medical records to assign precise ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes, and develop educational materials.

Collaboration with IT and revenue cycle teams will optimize EMR processes and reduce denials. The ideal candidate has at least five years of coding experience, CCS/CPC credentials, and strong training skills to educate providers and onboarding

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of medical coding experience and active certifications.
• CCS or CPC certification required.
• Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Experience with post-acute care settings (e.g., skilled nursing).
• Strong communication and training abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct coding audits to ensure compliance and reimbursement accuracy.
• Develop and deliver educational materials and training modules on coding guidelines.
• Collaborate with providers and operations to resolve documentation and coding issues.
• Optimize EMR processes and documentation workflows with the tech team.
• Stay updated on healthcare regulations and coding guidelines related to post-acute care.
• Review records and assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Provide ongoing training for new and existing staff on coding practices.
