Job summary

Altea Healthcare is seeking a Medical Coding and Education Specialist to improve coding accuracy and compliance in post-acute care facilities. You will review records, assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes, and develop education materials for providers.

You will collaborate with EMR and revenue cycle teams to optimize documentation and reduce denials, while staying current with regulatory changes affecting post-acute settings.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in medical coding with a post-acute focus.
• Certified in Medical Coding with CCS or CPC credentials required.
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and related coding guidelines.
• Experience reviewing records and educating providers on coding accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular coding audits to ensure compliance and accurate reimbursement.
• Develop and deliver training materials on coding guidelines for post-acute care.
• Collaborate with providers and operations to clarify documentation and coding issues.
• Optimize EMR processes and documentation workflows with technology teams.
• Stay updated on healthcare regulations and coding changes relevant to post-acute care.
