Qualifications

• Minimum of two years records coding experience and/or equivalent education.
• Ability to perform functions in a Microsoft Windows environment.
• Previous experience with an electronic legal health record system preferred.
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology/ Medical terminology required.
• Required Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Responsabilités

• Abstract billing for outpatient evaluation and management (E/M) codes from provider documentation, including CPT-4 and ICD-10-CM codes and modifiers.
• Abstract billing for outpatient procedures and HCPCS codes from documentation.
• Research simple coding/billing issues for the physicians and recommend the most appropriate coding/billing method.
• Analyze medical records to determine coding correctness and flag potential patterns of abuse.
