Qualifications

• Must have AHIMA (CCA/CCS/CCS-P) or AAPC (CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPC-H-A) credentials.
• Associate degree in Medical Coding & Billing preferred.
• Experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews medical record documentation to identify facts needed to select diagnoses and procedures.
• Codes evaluation and management to CPT and ICD-9 codes.
• Meets with physicians to review documentation and secure signatures.
• Prepares case reports and initiates follow-up for billing.
• Assists with efforts to increase physician awareness of documentation requirements.
