Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Professional coder certification with AHIMA and/or AAPC (CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC-H/COC, CIC, CCS-P, CPC) renewed annually.
• 2+ years of ICD-10, CPT, and modifiers experience.
• 2+ years of observation coding experience.
• Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Excel; comfortable with EMR systems.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and communication.

Responsibilities

• Identify assignment of ICD-10 Codes, CPT and modifiers for facility services per guidelines.
• Adhere to coding ethics and established client guidelines.
• Maintain performance in coding quality and productivity as required.
• Understand APC codes and perform physician queries when appropriate.
• Maintain up-to-date coding knowledge and participate in meetings.
